Attention Matt Bowers Racing Fans:
Our economy and our sport are under financial attack. Matt Bowers Racing Team is no exception. Our 2008 year far exceeded all expectations with help from Dave Pletcher, Wayne Anderson, and Dick Anderson. Considering that Matt’s year consisted of a driver that performed 90% of the maintenance on 2 cars; a track team consisting of 3 hard working members (Matt, Ned, Dave, or Dick); with probably one of the lowest budgets of any competitor in the Sunbelt Top 10. Amazingly, we had only one mechanical the entire season, an engine failure at Lake City. Our team tried to do it right the first time.
One thing we probably out performed the competition on is marketing and networking. I can honestly say, the intangible return is right on target as our networking continues to expand. As Matt and I travel to Charlotte this week, one of our talking points is to describe a young driver with one of the largest and most influential fan clubs in the sport, The Villages Motor Racing Fan Club. Under the direction of Dick Anderson; coming off a stellar rookie year in true big league racing; and gaining the attention of such a great group of racing enthusiast just about checks all the many squares required for a driver to make it to the very top of his profession.
However, one major square is proving the most challenging of all – finances. With that said, we still have a glass that is better than half full. Unfortunately, we cannot race on half a tire. Matt will eventually find enough corporate backing to keep our program on the level we operate on, but, as the season begins to take root, we are in desperate need of funds to complete Speedweeks that begin on February 5th.
Our minimum budget for fees, tires and gas is $10,000. The good news is we are at the halfway mark thanks to a very dedicated fan, Linda Marsh, and our family. Each and every ounce of support can get us closer to our minimum budget to make the show. Once we are there and Dick performs his magic, Matt is in position to conserve his equipment and be one of the last competitors left standing. We definitely have been there before and have a great track record at these kind of events. More important is the opportunity of exposure Matt can expect by competing in this kind of major event with all the attendance coming from Daytona Speedweeks and the major players keeping their eyes open for talent. Just being a part of Dick Anderson Racing says a lot, right there!
We have developed a couple of great programs to help entice and facilitate your financial help. We have a growing email list of over 200 fans. It would not take a huge average investment to meet this budget and also launch us into the full racing season. This is where $50, $100, $200 can really make all of this happen. Granted, we need hundreds of thousands of dollars to further our 2-3 year goals, but it all begins one brick at a time. This sport is not going to disappear, but the successful future drivers and teams will all be built, one brick at a time with full emphasis on marketing.
Matt is offering the first 100 fans that join the “Double Your Money Back” outreach program an opportunity to double their money back at double the donation beginning the first day of his first race in a NASCAR Cup ride! We are serious enough to make it happen and we are serious enough to remember the very persons who helped us make it happen in a rewarding way. You will receive a program certificate is a token of our appreciation and represents the dedication to the task at hand and our continued demand for excellence. We want to make everyone part of our team. We think we have the nation’s best team and know how to get the job done at the track. Now we need a bigger team to help us get to the track. We need your help. We have set up a Pay Pal account that makes any investment in Matt an easy and secure experience.
